Grandma’s cookies are really good, maybe too good. I ate them all and this morning, I woke up with a toothache.

I tried to tell grandma that she was my favorite, that i had always thought she was a nice lady. She took me to the dentist anyway. Now, I’m waiting and wondering …

Maybe there’s still time … to jump out the window, run to the ferry and become a pirate! I’m almost certain there are no dentists on pirate ships!

And the door opened :

-“So, young man, let’s take a look at that tooth; open wide please!”

Sigh! too late!

  1. Nicely done as I sit here eating a Snickers bar and my tooth aches. I think we should all experience being a pirate once in our life. Well written. Lucy

  2. Sigh. He’l appreciate it in the long run, although running away to be a pirate would be fun. I love the pleading he did to try to avoid the dentist’s chair. Grandma’s cookies are definitely the best.
